Newcastle win Carabao Cup LIVE REACTION: Magpies finally end 70-year trophy drought as Howe and co. become club legends

Newcastle won their first major domestic trophy in 70 years on Sunday as they beat Liverpool to lift the Carabao Cup.
The Magpies ended their long drought at Wembley thanks to goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak despite a late consolation.
It’s a moment that Eddie Howe will never forget as he and his squad have written their names into the club’s folklore forever.
Arne Slot has missed out on his first piece of silverware as Reds boss, but he will have the Premier League title to aim for now.
You can recap all of the action in our live blog below...
Reporting for duty
Dan Burn has had one hell of a weekend.
He received his first England call-up on Friday and now he's scored in a Carabao Cup win at Wembley.
The big defender has revealed he won't have too much time to celebrate though, as he's off to Three Lions duty!
Burn told Sky Sports: "I've had worse weeks. I don't want to go to sleep because I feel like I'm dreaming and it's all going to be a lie.
"I feel strange, I feel numb at the minute.
"[I'll be reporting to St. George's park] Tomorrow morning. I'll be first there tomorrow at 8 o'clock."
'We wanted to do them proud'
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has been speaking after he and his side finally took a break from celebrating.
Just like Bruno Guimaraes, he has dedicated the long-awaited trophy win to the Magpies fans.
“I am very very emotional and been all day which is unlike me," Howe told Sky Sports post-match.
"We knew what was at stake today for all of our fans, we wanted to do them proud and win the trophy.
"I am so, so pleased with the result and the performance - we deserved to win today.
"It was tough when Liverpool scored. I was thinking about extra time, we always make it difficult for ourselves it was never going to be 2-0."
He continued: "We were well aware of the history and we wanted to do the club proud. We wanted to score, we wanted to perform and we wanted to win.
"We are breaking new ground, I thought we were magnificent today.
"We worked consistently for two weeks on set plays just for this game and if you had seen us in practice you would have said we haad no chance.
"We couldn’t believe Dan Burn scored - he didn’t train like that! He was a colossus for us."
Unwanted achievement
Mohamed Salah has achieved an unwanted career first...
The Liverpool superstar neither attempted a shot nor created a chance in the Carabao Cup final.
That's the first time Salah has done that in a Reds game where he has played 90+ minutes.
It's a dismal outcome for the Egyptian.
And who knows, could that have been his last final for the club?
Celebrations continue
The trophy is now down on the pitch and the Newcastle players continue to celebrate their long-awaited win.
Anthony Gordon is down there witht the squad and so are all the injured players who missed out today.
These scenes will carry on into the night in the capital.
Remarkable stuff.
History for Howe
Eddie Howe has made some history too.
He's ended a 21-year wait for an English manager to win the League Cup, emulating Steve McClaren.
Howe is also the first English manager to win a major trophy with a Premier League side since Harry Redknapp in 2008.
It's a dream come true for all at Newcastle.
NEWCASTLE'S MOMENT!
There we go, Newcastle are Carabao Cup champions!
Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier lift the trophy!
A moment that will never, ever ben forgotten at the club.
These players have written their names in Magpies folklore and this party is going to continue all night.
London will become Newcastle for tonight, that's for sure.
Up the steps
Newcaste are heading up to lift the trophy.
What a moment this is going to be at Wembley.
After 70 long years, they are finally going to be able to lift some silverware after beating Liverpool.
Bruno Guimaraes will do the honours...
Heartbreak
On the other side of the pitch, Liverpool slump.
They were favourites heading into this final but they've come up short and just didn't turn up today.
Arne Slot has been denied his first piece of silverware.
And could that be the last final in a Reds shirt for Mo Salah?
He was in tears as his side were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek and now it's more heartbreak.
This will hurt, but Slot's side have the Premier League title to secure over the next few weeks now.
'Best day of my life'
Bruno Guimaraes has labelled this achievement as the best day of his life while dedicating the trophy win to the fans.
The Brazilian was in tears as he spoke to Sky Sports.
"It's all for these fans," he said. "They deserve everything. When I first came here I said I wanted to put my name in history.
"We can now say we are the champions again. This is one of the best days of my life.
"I don't have any words. It's the best day of my life. For them [the fans] it's like the World Cup.
"People have grown up and not seen us as champions. My first year as captain of this club and it's one of the best days. This is unbelievable.
"This is my second home. We are making history. Some day when I leave this club I want the fans to sing my name the way they do to Shearer.
"He text me before the game. I'm so emotional today."
A long time coming
There are some unbelievable scenes on the pitch.
Bruno Guimaraes is crying while Eddie Howe punches his fists at the crowd as the fans roar in response.
This has been a long, long time coming for the Magpies.
Their last major domestic trophy came 70 years ago.
They've finally won another.
