Roberts Completes Loan Move to Lincoln
Wednesday, 23rd Jan 2019 16:45

Town have confirmed that Jordan Roberts has joined Lincoln City on loan for the rest of the season, as TWTD revealed earlier this afternoon.

The 25-year-old joins Danny Rowe, who rejoined the Imps for the rest of the campaign last week and scored twice on his second full debut as they won 2-0 at Yeovil on Tuesday evening.

Roberts signed for the Blues in the summer on a free transfer after leaving Crawley Town at the end of last season.

The winger or striker rarely featured under Paul Hurst but was used as a number nine by Paul Lambert after he took over.

However, with Collin Quaner and Will Keane having been added to the squad during January, Roberts seems unlikely to be used in that role.

Bradford City, Plymouth Argyle and the MK Dons had previously been linked but manager Lambert said last week that moves for Roberts had broken down.

In total, Roberts has made six starts and six sub appearances for the Blues without scoring.

Good luck to him. He certainly didn't lack effort, he just isn't good enough for this level unfortunately.

Maybe one for the future or one who isn't up to championship standard. It's one of those symptoms of taking on too many lower level players at the same time and they can't develop as a unit without the right experience around them.

Agree with BB90, can never fault the man, worked his socks of, made a nuisance of himself, just lacked championship quality. Useful signing in L2 though.

Best of luck to him. Be great if him and Danny Rowe can help get Lincoln promoted. Then we'll see them next season!

I suppose with Pennington, chalobah, Keane, Guarner etc all going back at the end of the season, we will have a big dent in our squad and if the worst happens and we are in league 1, some of these players going out on loan could easily have to become our starting 11, cant see Collins or judge staying if we get relegated either

here's the thing we could play Lincoln in a couple of weeks (giving roberts time to settle in) and we would probably lose with Rowe and Roberts scoring.

Yes we do lack quality on that there is no denying, but we now lack a winning mentality and i think that is amongst our biggest problems right now!

Top of the class for effort but sadly not so for ability. A very curious signing, at 25 yrs old playing for Crawley town that is probably his level. Very best of luck to him, did his level best with the opportunity he was given.

Goodness me, really highlights Hurst's ability to manage at this level when in the same season 2 acquisitions go right back out on loan again.

another Hurst signing that was thrown into the deep end of the pool ,but could only paddle. Not his fault, he did his best , but like the others was not up to it, We have got to move all of Hursts signings on im afraid.
